Burnley have signed Iceland winger Johann Berg
Gudmundsson from League One side Charlton
Athletic.
The newly-promoted Premier League club have
signed the 25-year-old for an undisclosed fee on
a three-year deal, with an option for a further
year.
Gudmundsson was part of the Iceland side that
sent England out of Euro 2016 with a shock 2-1
win.
The winger provided 11 assists last season but
was part of a Charlton side relegated from the
Championship.
"The atmosphere around the club is fantastic.
Playing against the team [Burnley] last season I
saw just how good the club was - I definitely
wanted to join," said Gudmundsson.
This is the first summer signing for Burnley
manager Sean Dyche, who said: "We saw him last
season playing at Charlton in a tough time and we
liked the quality he showed.
"It helps to see a player in the European
Championship with that kind of company and he
did well there. It was one we all agreed would be a
good acquisition for the club."
