Liverpool have completed the signing of Newcastle
United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
The two sides on Thursday had agreed a fee and
Wijnaldum was to undergo a medical "as soon as
possible."
Wijnaldum has signed a five-year contract with
the Reds and the Liverpool Echo report that they
have paid around £23 million up front with an
extra £2m in add-ons for the services of the 25-
year-old.
He will now head to the United States to join up
with Jurgen Klopp's side on their preseason tour,
after they flew out in the early hours of Thursday
morning.
He told the club's official website: "I'm really
excited because Liverpool is a big club with a
great history and it's always a dream to play for
as big a club as Liverpool."
On working under Klopp, he added: "[He seems] a
great man -- from the outside -- because I don't
know how he works yet and I have to work with
him.
"[But] I always love to watch him, his passion as
a coach, I like how he enjoys the game. He gives
something back to the group [with his passion]
so I look forward to working with him."

The Dutch international joined Newcastle in July
2015 from PSV Eindhoven for £14.5m and went
on to score 11 goals in 38 Premier League
appearances for the Magpies but could not
prevent their relegation to the Championship.
Wijnaldum becomes Liverpool's third signing of
the week following defender Ragnar Klavan and
goalkeeper Alex Manninger through the door at
Anfield.
